The city has lived from the sea for centuries. It is home to Scandinavia's largest port, to shipping companies whose names are known far beyond Sweden and to a maritime cluster of shipowners, brokers, insurers, classification and marine technology. Chalmers trains the master mariners and marine engineers who go on to run ships across the world, and some of them end up in the offices along the river.
A cluster worth being close to
Shipping is a people business. Much of what matters, how a fleet is really run, where the next orders are going, which managers allocate capital well, is learned in conversation long before it shows up in a report. Being close to that network is an advantage no screen can replace.
Our ambition
We want msr. to become Gothenburg's specialists in listed shipping and maritime companies: a small, research-driven team that people in the industry want to talk to, and that understands the industry well enough to be worth talking to.
That starts with showing our work. This letter, our quarterly reports and the msr. Terminal we are building are all part of it.
